We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Barb Schmitz will be Trinity’s interim rector. She will begin her interim ministry at Trinity on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
She has served parishes in transition in Central New York as well as in dioceses across the United States. She is a native of Buffalo and is a clergy member of the Diocese of Central New York.
Ordained for 28 years, she has also served parishes and dioceses as rector, diocesan administrator, and assistant to the bishop. At one time, she worked full time in consulting and teaching conflict resolution. She recently completed her fifth year of study in the Organizational Development Certificate program with the Gestalt International Study Center of Cape Cod, focusing on clergy transitions.
A graduate of the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell, she most recently served as interim rector for St. John’s, Ithaca. While at Trinity, she will be assisting us with the developmental tasks of the transition time and guiding us through the search process for a new rector.
On her days off, she enjoys following the stock market, reading about medicine, watching politics, walking, cooking, and serving as human coach to her cat, Pookie.
You can meet Rev. Barb on July 16, when she serves as clergy supply at both services.
