Regarding Jan. 28

The search committee again thanks everyone for their participation during Focus Group 2 this past Sunday. We are encouraged by the many comments and your honest thoughts. It sounds like a parish working together, searching for the very best for our parish and its members. We also thank those who commented that they are praying for the work of the search committee and for the good of the parish. ‘God has someone in mind for us.’

Here are some thoughts from this past Sunday:

■ How perfect was Rev. Barb’s sermon.

■ We value our prayer together (Book of Common Prayer) and the dignity of the liturgy.

■ The strength and bond of our worship is common prayer, tradition of the service, inspirational music, and excellence of clergy sermons.

■ We have enjoyed the success of our many lay ministries, relationship with Watertown Urban Mission, districtwide Easter Vigil, giving people a voice, new parish center, building renovations, and we feel fulfilled through camaraderie.

■ Our liturgical style is comfortable, choice to stand/kneel, reverent, middle-of-the-road.

■ Our rectors have provided strong theology, scriptural history, collegiality, musical knowledge, and are family friendly.
