On Christmas Day, many get caught up in a whirlwind of family gatherings, meals, and celebrations, while others find themselves with little to do. For the first time, in what we hope will become an annual Christmas Day tradition, Trinity Church is offering a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some beautiful music in a peaceful setting. At 1:30 p.m., Kyle Ramey, Trinity’s organist and choirmaster, will present an organ recital designed to provide a festive musical experience for those seeking a calm break during the holiday.
The recital will feature several arrangements of beloved Christmas carols, each reimagined in a way that highlights the grandeur and beauty of the church’s 3,547-pipe organ. These well-known melodies will be played with the rich, resonant tones of the instrument, creating a serene atmosphere for all who attend. Lasting approximately 45 minutes, this recital provides a chance to reflect and enjoy the familiar sounds of the season, free from the usual hustle and bustle of the day.
Whether you’re on your own or simply seeking a relaxing moment away from the traditional celebrations, this recital offers a perfect way to connect with the spirit of Christmas through the timeless power of music. The recital is free to attend, and any voluntary donations received at the door will go toward the organ restoration fund.
